Artwork Description:

This is the day of the opening (22.12.1989). The place befor the Brandenburger Tor is the Pariser Platz (Paris place). The gate was constructed by Langhans 1788 - 1789 in classicisme style after the exemple of the antique propylaen in Athene. On the top of the gate you find the 6 meter high quadrige of Gottfried Schadow. The gate is the symbol of the german reunification, after Langhans: gate of peace.
