Artwork Description:
This etching is also from my series entitled MYSTERIOUS PLACES AND SACRED SPACES. Walt Whitman was the poet of Universalism and ushered into existence a new form of democratic mysticism for the common people. His work stressed equality between the races, sexes, classes, and religions. . . unlike any poet in the United States before him. The artistic techniques employed include intaglio, aquatint, and drypoint. This work is presented in three very limited editions of only ten prints each, each executed in a different colors ink AND paper combination. This edition of ten is executed in black etching ink on Rives BFK Gray Printmaking Paper. Image size is 8 inches wide by 6 inches high. Paper size of print measures slightly below 11 INCHES HIGH BY 15 INCHES WIDE. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, Certificate of Authenticity, and the shipment carton. Mailing and transportation costs are added to the price.
