  • Artists Describing Their Art:

    C. A. Hoffman - For me, my artwork is very personal. It reflects a lot about how I am feeling at any given time and place. I feel that art has to be on this personal level to completely capture how the artist is feeling daily, or trying to convey a certain thought or emotion at that particular moment. We all, at one time or another try to express our thoughts or ideas, whether it is to others or just to ourselves, by words, actions, ideas or pictures. If we are sucessful in this attempt, I think it shows through in our everyday work or art. I believe that one is either born to create art naturally or by learning. For me, I feel that I was born with this wonderful gift, and I try to improve upon it every day. In my photos and art, I hope to show how everyday objects and nature can capture our imaginations and feelings. Sometimes I work with an image to improve it, inhance it, or just to fuel the imagination. I truly hope this shows in all of my art. ...

Carmen Gonzalez - One of the roots of my inspiration can perhaps be found in a quote from Aristotle - The aim of art is to not represent the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance. I am attracted to painting simple everyday objects. My attraction is not only for the beautiful shape, color, and texture of an object but also its essence. Simple objects have the ability to triggers strong memories or emotions transporting the mind of a viewer into the past. My compositions are happy, playful, and nostalgic with the use of color and patterns. I love incorporating patterns into my paintings. Patterned backgrounds take the eyes of my viewer on a journey to all corners of the canvas. Different patterns stir up different feelings or emotions which adds to the character of each painting. I strive to create paintings that make everyone joyously smile. ...

Ivan Pili - Following in the footsteps of the great masters of the past, the tradition of classical and romantic nineteenth-century painting that evolves into a figurative language relives in the beautiful works of art of master Ivan Pili , whilst the segno runs fast and decisive in the graphic ability from suffused values aEUR
Marsha Bowers - Marsha Bowers was born and raised in the Central Valley of California. She is a classically trained fine artist, skilled in the old Masters techniques of Flemish/Bistre and Venetian method using a grisaille underpainting and glazing with many layers. Most of her fine art paintings are rendered in oil. She sometimes applies real gold leaf into the artworks. Marsha finds inspiration in the old masters of the past. She spends many hours visiting Museums studying their work. Gothic and Renaissance are her favorite periods along with the Pre-Raphaelites artists. The artist loves the blending of the classical painting techniques with a more contemporary approach to her paintings. Her recent fine art paintings are of women, both figurative and portraiture. The inspiration for her paintings comes from her observations of life itself and through her own experiences. Each painting shares a message, story or emotion. Its what the artist herself describes as a "flowing" of the spirit, a creative process through which the artist paints a story unto the canvas, realizing that each viewer of her work may have their own interpretation of what the art is conveying. Most recently Marsha was invited to be included into the International ...

Steven Fleit - I am a self taught artist. I have been painting for over twenty years and approximately four years ago I declared myself an Artist in the professional sense. Prior to my declaration as an artist, I built a portfolio of thematic collections. I started with Caribbean tropical paintings. I have expanded my subject matter to, Vineyard, architectural reflection, and travel sight e.g. Venice Series paintings. When I felt that I had put together a substative portfolio, I identified as an artist. I am serious about my craft and I hope you enjoy viewing my work. Thank you....

Vishal Gurjar - I am Vishal gurjar artist born in Rajasthan, India 1992. I live in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Jodhpur is known for its rich heritage and lavish culture and traditions. In my family, my grandfather was an artist and my two uncles. So from childhood till now, I brought up in that culture. I learned paintings from my grandfather. He passed away but his education is still alive in me. Being an artisan, painter and sketch creator from last 10 years I found the art of painting and sketching so mesmerizing and rejuvenating. In this journey of 10 years, I have been awarded by more than 5 prestigious awards and got the recognition across the state. Vishal Gurjar - Van De Ven - Registration Netherlands Institute for Art History RKD 473520 Autodidact painter and graphic artist, fiction writer Graduated at University of Amsterdam Digital vector painter. Started around 1998 with watercolor, linocut and monotype of etching ground on glass. Changed to digital painting on a Palm handheld in 2004, initially raster. Proceeded through a combination of raster-vector to vector around 2013. Lorenzo Award for digital painting at the 2015 Florence Biennale, several other awards. Author of Digital painting explained and illustrated, 2013-2019, an online source of information on digital painting. I am exploring the new medium of vector. My work develops in cycles from figurative to abstract and back to figurative. Hard lines, monochrome colors and perfect gradients limit the emotional palette of vector. aEUR~Ceci est un oeufaEURtm 2015, below expresses my initial dislike. Still, I hold manual vector to be the only cooperation between the artist and the computer that offers a new language of form while leaving the artist in charge. On one side there is digital raster painting, where the artist is fully in charge but there is no difference with traditional painting. On the other, computer generated painting offers renewal, but the computer takes the lead. Its ...

Donna Gallant - Art is a daily routine in my life. I see, hear, taste, feel and smell the life that surrounds me and I am inspired by the simplest aspects of this world. Whether it be the way the light hits an object or the way objects or forms move in space. I find it all so fascinating and alive. I try to portray these experiences and expressions through my art making....

Pol Ledent - I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Belgium o, 23rd October 1952. I started painting in 1995 . I took some drawing lessons in the art academy in Dinant. I try to paint the landscapes of the countryside where I am living : the southern part of Belgium. Firts I took part in many collective exhibitions . Then, in September Exhibition Libr'art in Libramont. In November, Galerie Impression in Dinant. What people like most in my paintings are the colours. My art doesn't speak to the intellect but to the soul and to the feelings. Talink the risk to seem old fashioned , I would say it is rather romantic. I wish you much pleasure looking at my paintings. Pol Ledent ...

Vladan Ignatovic - I am trying to establish a mood, a sensuous quality, rather than anatomical accuracy. A figure of woman represents the essence of life itself. When I put a canvas onto the easel, I feel free of all preconceived thoughts even if I planned the painting. I do implement all the craftsmanship and technique I know, but without much of a logical thinking....
