Artists Describing Their Art:
Ferenc Flamm - I grew up in Budapest and from an early age I fell in love with art, music and dance. I has studied art history, painting, anatomy and movement according to the Central European art education with roots in Leonardo da VinciaEURtms principles and the legacy of many other classical masters. In 1976 I moved to Sweden, formed a family, studied at the School of Fine Arts in Gothenburg and then started working as a graphic dsigner, illustrator and artist. For the past 15 years I returned to his artistry portrait painting, assignments, several own art projects, oil paintings and lithographs. Barry Boobis - Musical Visions is a body of work devoted to all themes of Music. These themes traverse the worlds of jazz, dance, rock, nature, spirit, and beyond. These musical themes are explored in the universes of realism and abstract, often combining both at a level of Spirit. Having practiced Zen meditation I see all mediums of art as One, which is derived from the ancient Buddhist scriptures. My Greatgrandfather wrote the "Hatikvah," national anthem of Israel, and my father was a jazz piano player, as well as a commercial artist, so the genetic splicing is readily obvious. The heritage of music, as well as art and spirit informs the work, and I offer it as a form of celebration of heightened sensibility. Joyousness, rapture, and expression, not just existence! As artist- in- residence at the Bluenote jazz club in NYC, and a participant in the Newport Jazz Festival and the Saratoga Jazz Festival for many years, I have had the great opportunity to bring this work to lovers of music as well as art throughout the Eastern Seabord of the USA. I now welcome the opportunity to bring it to the world- at- large through absolutearts.com. Please celebrate with me! ...
Pierre Davis Dutreix - Pierre Davis-Dutreix is an American painter living in Nice, France. He is one of the leaders of the French artistic squat movement known as "squart". A movement that started in the early 1980's in Paris and whose awkward name is a mix of two words: squat and art. The squart movement is virtually unknown in the States because it has been branded a revolutionary movement by conservatives since it treads on private property. Most of the artists have been ostracized by gallery owners for the same reasons thus creating an alternative network. The necessity for studio space for artists (painters, dancers, actors etc.) is fundamental and the incredibly high prices for such accommodations make it inaccessible for the average artist. Therefore they invest empty buildings, ready to be torn down or sold, and give them a second life by turning them into studios. Squarts represent a haven of liberty and a symbol of freedom. They form a battlefield where the last values are fought for, in a society where everything is conductive for the extinction of independent creativity. In many European countries like Germany, Holland and Switzerland, artistic squats have been legalized since the 1990's and Davis-...

Mairim Perez Roca - In my painting I seek to reflect a world full with fantasy, poetry and lyricism. Very feminine painting given by the degradations of colors. I like a lot to mix the colors and to give contrast from the clearest tones of lights until the darkest of shades. Very fine and detailed painting that it invites you to contemplate it and to create histories in them....
