Janet Page - JANET PAGE FINE ARTIST BACKGROUND Janet was born in Port Elizabeth daughter of a Chinese restaurant owner, Gilbert Ah Kun and Chinese mother Daisy. Studied under Hillary Graham, Alexander Podlashuc, Hilton Nel, Phil Kolbe and Neil Rodger at the Port Elizabeth Technikon from 1979 to 1982 where she received The National Diploma in Fine Art, Higher National Diploma in Fine Art and the National Diploma in Technology in Art. Her thesis was on The Life and Works of Dorothy Kay, one of South Africa's foremost Portrait painters. Janet had her first one man show in 1983 where one of her works sold to an American Politician and 2 works are in the South African Embassy in London. Janet has works in Germany, Australia, Canada and various cities in South Africa. Janet presently resides in Durban South Africa with her son Jonathan. PHILOSOPHY I love Art and I love to paint and my works are affordable to the man in street as everyone should be able to access and love art. It should not just be for the wealth.
