  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Tom Lund-Lack - Jyoti Thomas - I feel passionate about creating in many different forms and mediums but I'm predominantly a painter. My art comes from my inner world giving a voice to thoughts and emotions that can't always be adequately expressed in other ways. I am always in awe of the deep power of creativity to heal and bring deep insight. Most of my works are rich in colour and symbols and are an emotional and soul felt interpretation of the world within me and around me. The works shown here are from several bodies of work those being Meet Anita, Gifts of Descent, Below the Surface, Fragments, Oceans of Choice. and Night Sea Journey. My artwork has been a constantly changing river of works following the journey of my life, through good times and difficult times and has always been a refuge and a deep love. While the artwork just IS in its own right I also hope that it taps into others experiences of life and links us together in our common humanity. I love art just for its own sake and nothing else in my world has the ability to lift my heart and soul like making art does. I ...

Environmental Artist Apollo - "The beauty of our planet should be held in respect as well as reverence and awe! As the care takers of this precious jewel called Earth it is our duty to become more harmonious with our environment, for what we hold in our hands is a trust for future generations. What we do today, creates tomorrow." APOLLO Internationally Renowned Environmental Artist. Apollo is one of the World's Leading Environmental Artists. Apollo started painting dolphins and whales when He first moved to Maui in 1980. Since that time he has developed a Worldwide Following and has had the privilege to work with several Environmental Groups to raise both funding and awareness. ...

Harry Weisburd - Harry Weisburd is an Internationally Represented Artist, including, USA, Expressions Gallery, Berkeley, California,

John Powell - Artist Statement This body of work comes from a community of ideas. My art evoke a dialogue, a message as a language I speak, to create peace in a cosmic dialogue. It speaks in the future tense in a context of time that evoke a feeling of aEUR~time passesaEURtm... The emotional and psychological content of my subject, the way the body expresses its emotion, it contextualizes the concepts of the duality of the meaning of the imagery. My style is an expression of my philosophy which becomes a language using, Post Modern, Expressionism, Latin American Tradition, Surrealism, and soft Classism. It expresses my deep awareness of global issues and is counterbalanced with my cultural heritage. My inspiration originates from lifenature, itaEURtms too spiritual to express. However, it is the same expressive energy as the work transfused between energies which awaken the realms of these energies and evoked them in dialogueaEUR| . I use a certain iconography, which becomes a language. My art has helped me to see that nothing on earth is solitary, all things are interlinked. The unique expression in my art, is an attitudelanguage of my style but is easily understood in itaEURtms emotion. My art Carries ...

Azhar Shemdin - I am interested in experimenting with liquid acrylic, using resist material which is anything that is placed on the surface of the painting that impedes the flow of liquid paint. When the resist is lifted, an unexpected outcome is revealed. Sometimes the outcome is not what I wanted, and I cover the surface with paint and go for a second, third or even a fourth try, until I am completely satisfied with the outcome. The end result is a wonderous world that comes from somewhere and is revealed on a canvas surface!...

Jose Luis Munoz Rodriguez - Jose Luis Munoz paints muted abstracted environmental portraits that explore themes such as climate change, urban development, lost civilizations, urban sprawl and the material hubris humans leave in their wake. I find myself on the constant look out for abstract art that ignites my mind in some way and that's why I'm writing about Jose's Luis Munoz's work today What interests me about Munoz's abstract paintings is that while they are pretty to look at, they are titled in such a way that they are refreshingly relevant. They speak of history, the environment and how humans interact with it. They have meaning beyond their muted colors and strong horizontal compositions. I'm referring here to titles that actually correlate with the compositions. The plausible connection between the two pushes you to study the work more closely. When us art oriented folk think of Malaga Spain we associate this place with Pablo Picasso's hometown. And when we've got Picasso on our mind, if we bracket cubism from our thought process, we think about a hyper sensual art oriented towards human corporeality. Jose Luis Munoz - also from Malaga, has ...

Rhoda Taylor - Every day I work in my studio and every day I look forward to creating artwork. Painting is my passion.... I wouldn't know what to do without it. The studio that I work in is situated on the grounds of our house in beautiful Southern Ireland, surrounding me are the mountains with their soft mists, the rolling hills and ancient coastline, it all fills me with happiness and inspiration, I can gaze from my window at the amazing views, the Atlantic ocean, fields, cattle, birds and trees, this truly is a mystical and magical place. Over the years I have worked with various mediums, glass painting, silk screen, oils, pen and ink, gouache and watercolour, but my ultimate choice is my pen and ink work which I truly adore, I know I can put into the paintings a tremendous amount of detail that would be almost impossible using another medium. I am fortunate to of had a lot of my work purchased and exhibited worldwide, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Malta, Hong Kong, Vienna, Japan, and America, with works including Portraiture, Design and Illustration, not to mention the countless private commission requests ranging from transforming memorable photographs into paintings for ...

Plamen Yordanov - I share the idea of an art that creates reality instead of offering its conventional model. I want to provoke the birth of view that go beyond the boundary of reality itself. These viewpoints stress an order that exist "a priory" in nature and can be developed again and again. This aspect makes the picture exist as a signal that gives the onlooker a chance to go deep into his/her life experience and mind. This is a universal signal to which the individual responds in un unique manner and creates his/her own reality. ...

Francisco Landazabal - In a world where life passes too quickly and the instant runs away suddenly I chose to live calmly to study the inner nature of things. I have been my entire life enquiring about the whole reality, and hence my journey through various disciplines like fine arts, philosophy and even technology. My art is a human art, where being in touch with people and nature is extremely important, but then, I always return to the silent retreat of my Atelier in the mountains of Colombia to find the essence of things on the tip of my brushes and painting knives which results in the form of colorful and vibrant compositions, where a sort of magic is revealed. Sometimes it is very close to impressionism or expressionism, and sometimes it is fully abstract, a dance of the mere color masses and shades changing to allow the watcher to dream and complete the artwork. ...

Jose Luis Lazaro Ferre - I think the easiest way to define my activity as an artist and my intellectual approach to art would be to quote Apollinaire's thesis in his Les Peintres cubistes: meditations esthetiques, especially the following sections: ... Therefore, as an offer to the spirit, in the plastic arts, the fourth dimension should be generated by the three known dimensions: represented by the immensity of space eternally present in all the dimensions of a given moment ... Cubism differs from the painting that came before it because it is not the art of imitation, but the art of thought raised to the level of creation ... Scientific cubism is one of the pure trends. It is the art of painting new compositions with elements taken not from visual reality, but from the reality of knowledge ... Physical cubism is the art of painting compositions with elements taken primarily from virtual reality In my painting, I work with geometric figures arranged on different planes that overlap one another and blend into real shapes (bottles, cats, birds, fruit), fabricated objects (small origami birds and paper boats) and everyday things (hats, shoes, etc.) to create a world of mystery and sensuality. The lines I draw are ...

Dennis Duncan - A lifelong student of contemporary realism, I utilize various mediums to create art that stimulates the mind , body, and soul of each individual. By incorporating these three basic principles into each subject matter , at times the imagery takes on a "surrealist" aspect , "meditative", even "spiritual"... I've tried incorporating industrial products and textured mediums into my presentations, adding an "urban edge" to my body of work. . ...

Luiz Henrique Azevedo - Luiz Henrique da Rocha Azevedo born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1955 living in Petropolis city their youth; soon developed their fondness for drawing, sustained mainly by comics illustrated by Alex Raymond, Harold (Hal) Foster and Ray Moore. During the year of 1975 this fondness goes to the oil painting where their first works occurred oriented by a lovely old madam, Dona Marina, how he called her in the afternoon of their youth, among occasional colleagues. There will born their figurative painting. But their painting lost its space to professional career for more than 23 years until return to its place. Emerge the necessity to take the old painting case and just work where he feels better. Attended the course of realistic painters (Jose Geraldo Fajardo and Renato Ferrari) where learn and mature their technical skill associated, initially, to Rembrandt and Ruisdaels Flemish school, to Spanish painter Melendez and impressionist esteem . He chase for technical expertise and also for thematic identification that gives to him at the same time a private and plural sense to their works. Isn't an easy task but, in this process, retracting to a state that feels better to him: worried with lines, shadows, ...

Alice Murdoch - I have always wondered why statements are necessary from artists, unless their statements are not clear in their work. I think my paintings are strong enough to make their own, and that is my statement about my artists statement....

Paola Di Renzo - Born in Abruzzo, I live and work in Sardinia .Pure amateur artist,I used to work with paper, mainly magazine paper, sand, acrylic and tempera.Nowadays I look for the pleasure of playing with colours with which I try to express feelings and emotions. If I was able to express in words what I try to convey with colours.......I would be a writer!...
