Artists Describing Their Art:

Erik Brede - Producing a link between the landscapeaEURtms reality and that imagined by its conceiver is what BredeaEURtms artwork focuses on. Influenced by renowned artist like Ansel Adams and Rene Magritte, Brede creates surreal and fine digital artwork . Brede follows a conceptual approach thus utilizing a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered manner. His work focuses on concrete questions that determine our existence. Erik Brede is a photographer and Photoshop artist, born in 1971 in Svolvaer, Lofoten Islands, Norway. His photography journey started at the age of 11 when his father introduced him to the great magic of film development and post-production in his low budget darkroom. Even if the old analog darkroom is replaced by Photoshop and Lightroom, his vision and craetive ideas are the same. With a conceptual approach, Brede tries to approach a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way to produce a link between the landscapeaEURtms reality and that imagined by its conceiver. These works focus on concrete questions that determine our existence. His work have been sold to television company, record industries and collectors all over the world, and published in books like aEUR~The Best of Photography 2014aEURtm, aEUR~The ...

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Celeste Mccullough - I tend to lean towards the visual as opposed to the technical aspect of the creative process. When I'm taking pictures, I never look at the shutter speed, f/stop, etc. I strive to find that hidden gem of artistic expression hidden in the mundane, chaotic, and grittiness. I have a keen ability & vision to discover the beauty in what most of us discard. I'm drawn to landscapes and the elements that surrounds them, creating photographic work that reflects the mysterious and haunting atmospheres they hold. I believe everything has a story; through abstract and still life photography, I am able to tell it....

Emilio Merlina - I was born in 1950 in the North East of Italy from a polish mother and a sicilian father. I toured the world until I was 35, then I returned to Italy and picked up again my old passion painting and sculpture. As for myself, I can only say thoughts and paintings, paintings and thoughts. Everything maybe useless, however everything is life. i?1/2The human being leaves its signs, graffiti, indian dreams and imagination. Now I only have left a few more possibilities to express the colors which are not. Only the sign, scratched, angry or brushed is the witness. The sign has passed from there and there it has lived.i?1/2 Emilio Merlina Some hear if a door opens Others hear a latch which opens or closes Others more they hear the Angel when he turns over a page of the Great Book From the novel Missa Sine Nomine By Ernst Wiechert I have words which relegate my hunger And the hunger which owns my body but which do not confine them I have words which are both my confined hunger and body By the Italian poetess Paola Lovisolo ...

Keith Gray - Working on Drawing a Straight Line. Started creating abstract images in 1960, then an informal exhibition in 1971 centered on various portrayals of electrical circuitry, A first bubble chamber image was produced in 1975. Exhibition in 1983, in 1991 it was photos, then in 2000 images and words, website set-up in 2010. Exhibition held at Brighton Media Centre, BN1 1AL. U.K. 19-31 Aug 2011. www.mediacentre.org :- Title: "IMAGES IN THE VOID" On www.facebook.com/zen2go August 2012: The Blank Wall Show; Series 2 and others. Exhibition at The Showroom in London in 83 explored the visual parallels between zen and taoist images and modern physics. These images are not meant to be exact copies but changed in some way in transition. Abstract is the only language I am fluent in other that English. Interested in the co-existence between order and disorder, natural and man-made, systems and randomness. Balance through imbalance. Avoiding anything too computerised or New Age-ish. Sometimes I am very specific with colours, connections, time frames; other times using the first colour to be there, with very loose or fragile references. An image can take between 25 seconds and 60 hours...

Bruno Paolo Benedetti - Bruno Paolo Benedetti, born in the year 1954, began to take pictures, studying perspective and photo techniques, in the year 1968. Since the begin he was concerned with black and white photography, observing the contrast s of the nature, the lights and interpreting the reality around him. When he was 25 he began to work in the dark room, enhancing his technique using filters, high contrast films for making his first pictures of surreal and abstract photography. At the same time he began journeying around Europe and the world: India, Nepal, Bhutan, Southern America, South Africa, Egypt, Comoros islands are some of the most visited places. The study of the religions, the mysticism in all of them, inspired his artistic production, especially his surreal photography, where cultural and religious archetypes are depicted. The abstract non objective photography is the other branch of his work. It starts from the observation of the nature in all its manifestations: water, lights, colors, shores, flowers, ice All the colors are not elaborated and strictly natural, highlighting hidden particulars and changing the images into fluid shapes, where each watcher can see new images created by his emotions and fantasy. In both styles of pictures the ...

Jon Glaser - There is something fulfilling about capturing a moment in time particularly as the sun makes its first or last appearance. My photographic work reflects an affinity for movement and sound; the latter reminiscent of a song, starting calmly, building strength, power and energy, until the shutter releases and the image is recorded as the ultimate crescendo. While I am most drawn to the grand landscape, my portfolio includes macro still life and abstract work as well, showcasing a relationship between color and light. NOTE: All of my photographs have been processed with Photoshop and Lightroom withlittle manipulation or adjustment. All colors are true of their location. In addition, I print all images using the latest technology, the highest-quality papers, and newest archival inks. All photographs include a 5mm white border to ensure proper handling that helps eliminate the potential for fingerprints. ...
