  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Lucille Rella - Lucille Rella - Eve Co - I began painting and drawing in 1987 and have not stopped. I have a wide range from, landscapes, still-lifes, Hubble art galaxies nebulas, abstracts, florals, architectural art and so much more. I draw every day and paint as much as I can afford. I paint more watercolors than acrylic and oil canvas art. I would prefer more canvas art, but I make do with what I have. I try to express myself in artwork as well as with words. I paint landscapes, the glorious colors of nature, water, the ever expressive sky and more, primarily with watercolors on paper. These paintings are usually thought out and planned because they represent nature as I see nature. I paint still-lifes of everyday objects. To teach me about one particular color, shading and or painting glass. I think of still-lifes as a learning process that literally has me pulling my hair out in frustration, but I still paint through how they make me feel... I am fascinated with Hubble Space Technology so, I paint galaxies and nebulas on canvas with acrylic paints. I have sold many of these paintings and I must admit they are some of my favorite subjects...

Lucille Coleman - Although I'm able to produce other imagery, the figure has been my main subject. I believe that if an artist can capture and express the figure well, he can master any subject. I have explored the following themes to name a few: chic erotica, forms of dance such as latin and hip-hop, the family, conceptual themes pertaining to people in business, men and women in positive leadership roles and societal issues. I enjoy painting subjects and themes by using a loose, bold, direct and painterly brushstroke or flat graphite strokes over a solid drawing. Spontaneity and making visual statements by the "less is more" method is very gratifying for me. In addition, the chiaroscuro lighting of subjects fascinates me and I never tire of its effects of light and shadow. I am influenced by the works of Joaquin Sorolla, John Singer Sargeant, Caravaggio and other painters of his era, Wassily Kandinsky, Phillip Corey, Impressionism, and many great illustrators. ...

Edward Guzman - Painting is one of the ways that I express my soul to the world. It is through a deep felt connection to spirit that enables me to envision the images that eventually become paintings. My style is best described as Shamanic. In this mystical, spiritual style I move the viewer to a deeper level of experience as the images transport one to other realms of existence, to places within and long forgotten. The images, energy and intent may also elicit a healing of sorts. By accessing deeper levels of awareness we become attuned to higher levels of ourselves and if the time is right we are able to heal our many facets of existence. My work has also been described as Contempory Southwest as well as Visionary. My paintings are Mixed Media. I use watercolor, acrylic and 22K gold leaf. I have originals as well as Giclee prints that are hand embellished with 22k gold leaf available. Most recently I was in the 2013 Ontario Open Art Exhibition at the Ontario Museum of History and Art in Ontario, Ca. This is the fifth time my work has been shown at this wonderful little gem of a museum. For more information ...

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Tamara Sorkin - I have always worked from organic subjects- plants, animals, or the human body, but usually I arrive at an abstract, "zoomorphic" description, that enables me a wider perspective. ...

Michael Pickett - I donaEURtmt know how IaEURtmm able to do all of this, but somewhere inside me I know that I stand out from the rest, IaEURtmm unique and have some powers that are beyond comprehension. I stay pretty much to myself and I feel like someone who is not from this planet and that there are differences that I readily perceive. All of this makes me self-conscious and also makes me more critical of myself. I judge and criticize myself a lot which I should not, but I do because I feel alienated at times. IaEURtmm vary humble and definitely not better than anyone else. I have so much to achieve, and thataEURtms why I take my own time to do so, there are times when I get irritated and agitated because of keeping a lot of expectations for myself, and when IaEURtmm not able to execute it, I feel low. However, I have to make sure that all these expectations are achievable, not impractical and unfeasible. As a result, I trust my intuition more which allows me to communicate with others. Self-expression and originality are also associated with me. There is a ...

Edem Elesh - I am interested in examining the miracle of everyday existence. I have lead a very unique life. Born in Los Angeles and educated from an early age at English boarding schools, I have been exposed to two different cultures. This gives my work an American energy with English sensibilities. I am intrigued by the interplay born of this duality: order and chaos, old and new, the conscious and unconscious, structure and freedom. Not to mention expectation and accident. I am currently working with a new form of mixed media which allows, to an even greater extent, the chances of an interplay between process and providence....

Rita Levinsohn - Welcome to my world of Other Realities. I am a painter of mystical figurative paintings and abstractions composed of acrylic paint and found objects. My concern is for the future of our planet. The animate and inanimate objects within the paintings reflect many incarnations. The message being that it is possible to create rather than destroy....

Ralph Andrea - Ralph Andrea comes from a family of artists and plays classical clarinet. He has been photographing across the United States for the past 30 years and now combines his digital photography with digital art to bring the imagination and warmth of the traditional artist into a photographic genre that touches our hearts with peaceful moments....

Ted Schaal - Lately I have been exploring the use of two enduring materials, bronze and stainless steel. I enjoy the juxtaposition of the primitive texture in the bronze with the mirror polished modern look of the stainless. Balance and symmetry dominate simple geometric forms. These sculptures are made to last through the ages with the highest level of craftsmanship and quality metals. Most of my latest work can be scaled up for public or corporate settings and commission inquiries are welcome. With over 20 years of sculpture experience anything is possible from desk top size to monumental fountains and sculpture. ...
