Artwork Description:
This etching incorporates the traditional techniques of intaglio, aquatint, and drypoint it is from a very limited edition of ten prints in emerald tones and using my own inking and wiping techniques. The image is from my New Orleans series and features an 1880 street scene in front of ANTIONE RESTAURANT, with a background devoid of electrical street lamps, automobiles, and telephone poles. The print size is about 15 high by 11.5 wide The zinc plate I used measures nine inches by six inches seven separate acid baths were required for this complex work. I used a mixture of French oil-based inks and printed on STONEHENGE Cream colored paper. Please note that this etching is shipped to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector a range of choice in framing. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap. Handling, packing materials, strong packing tape, and shipment carton are included in the price. However the price does not include shipment costs.
