  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Pedro Martin De Clet - Born: Brooklyn; New York. Raised:New Haven; Connecticut. "I am completely self-taught. & although I work in all mediums, I consider myself first & foremost a Painter. My subject matter is everything having to do with life. Love, hate, joy, fear, pain, happiness, sorrow, & everything in between. I Paint what others can't or won't. I believe that ideas are only as good as the content that embodies them. I Paint the truth. I have no time to waste. Neither the viewers, nor mine. I leave that to the pretenders & posers, content on ideas without substance & clean hands. Painting should be as real as the Paint on the canvas, or piece of paper; or what have you. I do not mean that it has to be figurative, but that it should carry the weight & conviction of a soul. Then if it is any good, the viewer will either love it, or hate it. & this is what I am after." pedro ...

Matthew Hickey - Matthew Hickey is a 38 year old artist originally from Levittown, New York. He graduated with honors from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan in 1995. He lives and works in the northeast of England, and his work is featured in private collections worldwide. Figure paintings as well as portraiture and landscape are the focus of Hickey's career, offering a prevailing and unique insight into the optical nuances of this new century. Commissions and studio visits are always welcome at Hickey Studio. Call or email for inquiries, questions, comments. ...

Lyle Yazzie - "I love designing new and abstract silver work and to see how a piece of jewelry moves with a person as well as how it looks and feels. Eventually, one of my pieces will cross my path with the wearer and to see the love between the two is such a great feeling and a sight to see. It truly is great, that's when you appreciate what you have created"...

Troy Whitethorne - "to create, is to put your soul, on paper,!" i love still life, cultural art, abstracts and nudes. My passion for art, is number one on my list, i love art, and its a way to express who i am.......

Pamela Henry - Who is to say what art is or is not? I am a spirit that captures emotions and place them on a canvas. My emotions seem to create my art and I hope that you will feel something special when you view it. It doesn't matter what you feel, just as long as it can leave you with a thought. I have been an artist since I was 5 years old. That was sometimes the only way I could get any special attention. As an adult, I use my art to say what I feel without the limitations of words. I love it when someone tells me that my art made them feel something and that is why they had to buy it, or that my art caused them to think. My job is done when I can make you feel and think. ...

Joel P Heinz Sr. - Joel P Heinz Sr. was born in Hastings, Minnesota; raised and educated in Northern California: served in the Army in Viet Nam, and raised a family in California. He worked in various sales positions until he found his calling working with mentally disabled adults. He is now retired and living his dream in Maui with his wife, Kathy. In 1995, Joel began painting using acrylic paint on canvas with no formal art training. His artwork evolved from associating with other artists and the joy of experimenting and discovery. In the beginning, his favorite subject was Tropical Marine, colorful tropical landscapes and underwater scenes. As part of the evolution of his art, he dabbled in Egyptian art for a short time in order to practice working in detail, a noticeable characteristic of most of his artwork on canvas. For years he had appreciated artwork from a distance only to be disappointed in the lack of detail when viewed close up. He wanted his work on canvas to be detailed enough to be clearly seen whether viewed up close or from a distance. In the 21 years prior to moving to Maui, Joel's twice-annual visits to Maui cultivated an appreciation ...

Christian Schuetz - Not only birth, pain, sexuality, work, death, the human body as expressed in manners, gestures and facial expressions are basic human and cultural experiences, but also the individual voice impressive in all its shades for emotional layers and articulated speech. Even the perception and design of signs in its communicative and meditative meaning is a cultural experience, which is common to all cultures. Universal signs are therefore a fundamental theme in my work. This work is not about their mere aesthetical illustration, but is to respect their ability to relate to complex issues, expressed in almost "endless" variations (such as: The Wanderer, BA-CH, Strings). For the changes that a sign is experiencing, I have developed certain methods that are put into action only on the computer. Analogue methods are also found in music, mathematics and even in poetics. Art for me is therefore a recognition level to which the universal perception is displayed. ...

Eugen Varzic - Very early, as a small boy, I have defined myself as an artist. Of the wounds I have the design, the walls, benches, paper. 1999. degree in painting. Painting as breathing. To be the same, and in a permanent change. So I entered the world of painting. This idea leads me all the time, and I have to admit that sometimes it is not easy. I think that the work of painter most loneliest job. My wish is to stay on my way, and honestly continue to create art every day.To learn and see more. At least once by the end of life re-discover the child in myself. Inspiration is music. Sometimes in the silence I could not take the brush in hand ... Inspiration is the written word. Inspiration in history, religion, practically in everything. A main inspiration and the center of my art is man. Inspiration is the history of art. All. All. With the same passion I feel the bulls in Altamira and sculptures of Damien Hirst . I like to paint, I love to create some new worlds. Sometimes I think over my artwork. These are my painted logs that show me when I was happy, ...

Eugen Varzic - Janice Young - I work in multiple mediums. When I get an idea, I think, how can I express this visually. Sometimes the medium is the inspiration. I reuse materials from demolition, use leftovers from construction, gather raw materials from nature, and experiment with commercially produced materials. I have a drive to create. I would like what I create to provoke thought as to the beauty and importance of all life and the effect our massive appetites have on that life. ...
