Artists Describing Their Art:
Vasily Zolottsev - There is only one law in art which carries objective character and comes from the very nature, conditional character and illusiveness of art! It is an indispensable condition of creation of an artistic image! It is necessary to judge an artwork by intensity and importance of the image and force of its emotional influence! Style, manner and technique don't have any importance and they are equivalent! The good picture of a primitive artist can be much more valuable in the art sense than a 'competent' picture of a realist and on the contrary! If there is an image, there is a work of art, if there isn't, it's no use crying for the moon! And it is not important which art means it has been reached by! Everyone to his 'own' taste! ...
Alexandra Kruglyak-Zecevic - Alexandra Kruglyak Alexandra's approach to her work is sheer dedication and passion. According to her, she only paints when she manages to achieve the inner unity with the subject regardless of its scheme or ideology. The main message of her work is modern positivism in its basic form. She prefers to work with live subjects on portraits in order to catch complimentary details such as aspects of personality, which a photograph cannot relay. Her still live compositions have a definitive style indigenous to the European Old World technique saturated with realism and simplicity of figures and forms. She tends to discard the non-essential and concentrate on the formative qualities of the object. The colours tend to be bright but warm and the entire style is that of restraint. However, the restraint does not constrict but rather highlights the intense undercurrent of emotions she experiences while painting. Today Alexandra's art has found its way into many private collections in Germany, England, Ukraine, Russia and the United States. Her latest work is mainly done in oil and acrylics, and according to her "the inspiration can come from anything, even observing a compilation of random colours". Currently Alexandra's paintings ...
David Mihaly - The first series here represents notable historical and pop culture figures, many with Ohio roots, presented in a contemporary style. Each portrait can be seen as a celebration of the individual depicted as well as a meditation on the difference between the bygone era of actual achievement in the arts versus todays culture of instant celebrity. Also included here is a series of textured jazz musician portraits. Each musician painting was made using a layered acrylic technique, evoking the smoky atmosphere of the clubs where the music was born....
Manu Zuccarotta - Pop surrealism. A window on colorful parallel universes. /////In lo-fi we trust!...
Daniel Blanco - My work shows fragmented realities and interrupted sequences, a strong confrontation happens between color images and black and white fragments, this causes the paint to go beyond its own limits. It tends to break the stylistic coherence of a traditional stilife, nude or landscape, but also enables me to connect two separate and dissimilar worlds, getting to be the perfect complement for eachother....
Diane Oliver - I love to create art. It doesn't matter what kind of art as long as I am creating. I found a quote, the author is unknown to me but it goes, "I will not limit my art to one style, medium, or subject matter. I did not become an artist to be boxed up and packaged like cereal." What I present on this website is only acrylic paintings, but I like many forms of art and I know there are mediums out there that I have yet to try, but I will. I make art for the joy and hopefully some money to buy more art supplies. I hope that you will like my art as well. "Life is like art. It's all in how you look at it." ...
