Artists Describing Their Art:
Andre Pillay - Being fascinated by many forms of artistic expression , over time I have created works in various mediums. Ceramics , fused-glass and painting have their own qualities which I enjoy. Each of these mediums offer various challenges of manipulation and fabrication. Implementing certain ideas , thoughts and emotions in the beginning do not necessarily stay that way. I enjoy the surprises of creating work spontaneously sometimes. Inspiration is drawn from many sources including nature , architecture , metaphors , history, the abstract , places , symbolism , illusion and interpreted in my own way. Focusing more on creating abstract paintings, working with acrylics and mixed-media on canvas. I aim to capture the beauty, light and spirit of place. That'place' being metaphorical and imaginary. Digital art is also something new that I am experimenting. My hope is to portray work that is intriguing and timeless....
Durlabh Singh - Sice R.Mutt's urinal, visual art in the western world has suffered a shock & a decline. It has become mere conceptual & has gone back to literary traditions of making statements.Abstraction has become a puritan's attitude of non-depiction of human body in a dignified form.My art is a sort of revolt against this kind of pseudo-intellectualism. My art takes account of both biological & metaphysical aspect of human body.It is a breakthrough to new levels of reality creating significant forms necessary for development of human spirit. I welcome any suggestions or comments regarding my work. If anyone is interested in buying please contact me.Main aim of my art has never been financial gains. I have exhibited all over the world including India, Kenya, Helsinki, Paris, London & New york etc.My work is in private & public collections incliding Ministry Of DefenceLondon & Horniman Museum London....
Jacinta Crowley_Long - Living surrounded by her animals in Wicklow, Ireland, this professional artist has a deserved reputation as Irelands foremost contemporary canine and equestrian artist. An award winning full time professional artist, Jacinta graduated with a PhD from University College, Cork and now has both a national and international reputation for her paintings of rural landscapes, country life, period interiors and equine and dog studies. She lives in and works from an 18th century country rectory in the heart of Wicklow. Her subject matter depicts the genteel splendour, pursuits and often eccentricities of Irelands surviving country houses and demesnes. She has been selected in recent years to exhibit at the prestigious International Exhibition of Equestrian Art at both Chisties and the Mall Galleries, London. This exhibition is staged annually to showcase the work of the best of International Equine artists. The empathy she clearly has for her subjects, allied with her technical ability, knowledge of anatomy and acute observation can be seen in her evocative paintings of animals and country artifacts - all drawn from the farmyard, gardens and fields surrounding her home. Her landscapes portray an other-worldly atmosphere of moments caught in time and depict anachronistic experiences and a way of...

Brian Aurelio Piccini - I have always been a strong believer that to enjoy life to it`s fullest one must take the time to stop and'smell the roses'. Nature is full of perfect harmonies which for many go unnoticed. Through my work I love to bring these perfections to light with the relief that in doing so I may enrich the lives of others. Theodore Kennett Raj - About Theodore As a visual artist I follow my own muse. My visual narrative paintings and pen drawings reflect fanciful subjects and situations depicted with explosions of colour and textures. Born in Maduria India, I have a very exuberant colour sense which reflects the origins of my country of birth. In 1974 I studied design and art at Shillito design school in Sydney, NSW. I have spent most of my working life in the fashion industry . Previously I have exhibited my work at eca bar in Darlinghurst, Sydney, NSW which atrracted enthusiastic commentry from the fusion of creative locals of the area. In 2007 I was invited to join a group exhibition at Tap gallery in Sydney which was received with great enthusiasm. I relocated to to the northen rivers region of NSW. This move has given me a new freedom to to visualise and create new colours and shapes which excites me and gives me new sense of experimentation bringing new movement and life into my work. since march 2012 i have been exhibiting at the Channon gallery ,in the beautiful hamlet of channon N.S.W.Australia.the new body of works i have created useig acrylic and ...
Michael Griesgraber - In my recent "X Squared" Series I combine vibrant colors with the ideas espoused by the Color Field "school" artists whose paintings are characterized primarily by large fields of flat, solid color spread across the canvas creating areas of unbroken surface and a flat picture plane. The Color Field movement placed less emphasis on gesture, brushstrokes and action in favor of an overall consistency of form and process. In this respect the colors are freed from objective context and become the subject itself. I also find, generally speaking, musical notes and colors have a common attribute. Musical notes are as individual as colors. Both have a primitive charm that flows through the brain to inundate our emotions. Colors, like musical notes, stimulate certain moods. Combinations of colors like music can evoke joy, excitement, fear, anger - any number of emotions - while the used of geometry in my paintings provides balance and stability just as music uses structure to create melody and harmony. It should be obvious that the X Squared Series paintings are more akin to jazz than classical music in their construction and composition. As the Hans Hofmann wrote, "The world comes to us through the mystic realm of color. ...
