Artists Describing Their Art:
C. A. Hoffman - For me, my artwork is very personal. It reflects a lot about how I am feeling at any given time and place. I feel that art has to be on this personal level to completely capture how the artist is feeling daily, or trying to convey a certain thought or emotion at that particular moment. We all, at one time or another try to express our thoughts or ideas, whether it is to others or just to ourselves, by words, actions, ideas or pictures. If we are sucessful in this attempt, I think it shows through in our everyday work or art. I believe that one is either born to create art naturally or by learning. For me, I feel that I was born with this wonderful gift, and I try to improve upon it every day. In my photos and art, I hope to show how everyday objects and nature can capture our imaginations and feelings. Sometimes I work with an image to improve it, inhance it, or just to fuel the imagination. I truly hope this shows in all of my art. ...
Eileen Seitz - I was born and raised on the Island of Manhattan, NYC. My spirit learned early about the concrete jungle with its melting pot of cultures and the grand variety of NYC's architecture . It was at the age of 16 that I first traveled to the tropical green jungles OF THE Caribbean. I saw the turquoise seas, the foliage, the flowers when i felt the truth and beauty there overwhelming while inspiring me. Seeing the flow of nature with its colors and harmonies,I feel to bring to life both on paper and canvas. My true joy, comes from two things, the acutal art of painting of letting the spirit speak through my brush, and seeing that spirit reborn in the faces and hearts of the people who come to share my anonymous gift....

Michael Pickett - We all have wonderful talents to bring to the World of art as artist. Your unique style and ambitions are greatly respected. We are empowered by the inspiration of our souls, inspired by the beauty of the world around us, and, in our way, changing the world. My goal as an artist is to make a difference in the world of art. I am color-blind and I have dyslexia. Having overcome many obstacles in my life then sharing my findings to those I run across. I am painfully shy when it comes to promoting myself to different galleries and organizations and that's why I've created my own portfolio web site. (www.pickettonline.com) Competition in the world of art is so high that good artist will eventually give up, not knowing that in there own way, they really are making a difference, Maybe not in the world, but in the local community or their family and friends. ...
David Larkins - Ii?1/2ve always been intrigued by the luminosity and transparencies found in watercolor, Oil and acrylic mediums. I believe an artist must experience the painting i?1/2 to absorb the surroundings, the atmosphere, to have a oneness with the subject matter before the first brush stroke is applied. My style is described as i?1/2Abstract Realismi?1/2 and my strength is found in the composition. Ii?1/2m drawn to diverse subject matter that challenges the viewer to see abstraction in the ordinary i?1/2 to meld the i?1/2reali?1/2 world with the i?1/2abstracti?1/2. ...
Bessie Papazafiriou - Through my work I'm able to express reality in my own way. With a brush in hand suddenly horses can fly, the sky is ablaze, myths become reality and the world is transformed. To me, this is freedom. There is an unequaled sense of joy and satisfaction that comes from being able to express my vision and share it with others. I love it when a stranger views my work and feels a connection...suddenly we're no longer strangers. A new line of communication is open, one that transcends language....
Marina Venediktova - My name is Marina Venediktova. I was born in 1974 in the Russian city of Kazan. My father is a professional artist and designer. It is difficult for me to track the moment in the past when painting first captured my attention, apparently from the first days of my life . I always studied with my father, and then graduated from an art school in the city of Kazan, later in 2007 I moved to live in St. Petersburg and practiced for many years in private workshops with artists of the Art Academy of St. Petersburg. As a second education, there was a graduation from the Academy of Astrology, and a large practice of consulting clients. Since then, more than six years have passed, and it was astrology that gave me that unique accent in my paintings, inspired me to a new stage of my work. Now I do not just look at the world, at people, I see them with my own eyes, I see the uniqueness of each person, each soul, even if it is an inanimate object. But words are too stingy to describe it, so I chose my own language-the language of canvas and paint. I ...

Claudia Luethi Alias Abdelghafar - Personal Statement from Claudia Luethi alias Abdelghafar I love to paint oil colours because they are smooth and I can paint in several coatings. So there is a threedimensional effect in my paintings. I love colours to express the positive attitude to my live. I believe that there is all the time a door open when I believe it. There is no sence to see the negative things in live because all the peoble around me has also negative things in there live. In 2006 I began to paint oilcolour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet. There were peoble telling me to paint abstract things than I would have the better chance to sell it. But I love to paint animals, to bring there soul and character on the canvas or velvet, to give them live that when you pass the painting you are just thinking: ups, this animal has it moved? Also the landscapes and citiescapes have to live, I want really not to copy only fotos but that the peoble can smell the woods or the salt water of the sea, hear ...
Dennis Mccallum - For a number of years I was the UK Government protected species rehabilitator to the wild of injured birds of prey. In this time I was able to observe and handle wild birds and animals. They were my inspiration and provided the subject matter for my paintings. Having been a surveyor with the UK Ordnance Survey which makes the British maps, I was trained to represent images with accuracy and detail and this I do in my paintings from studying the birds at close quarters. I also have the freedom to explore any subject that interests me. My work has been challenging, but always enjoyable and that is my reason for painting...
