  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Vaidotas Bakutis - For me, painting was a natural state, something I did not really choose but which came automatically because, that was what I needed. You can't learn it; it's not a craft you need a diploma for. I believe art is a subconscious expression of self - is the vehicle for bringing the subconscious to a conscious parallel. Painting is always for me about exploring the depths of my own imagination. Painting is irresistible if you can see clearly, that it's paint what you are looking to and at the same time your eye shows you, as through a window, another world. My work is a result of a fragmented view of the world, which gives it a surreal quality -here and beyond - present and past. ...

Dina Elsayed Imam - I've always found a great satisfaction in the action of watching and in turn in the process of recreating the experience. This continuous process of understanding through visual experience made my work lean towards a more personal and expressionistic style. But that kind of expressionism sprouts out of a genuine desire to transfer a much more realistic truths about what I depict in my paintings. I make no attempt to constrain my interest in a single subject matter. but till now My main concerns lay with the human body and its surrounding space & objects. ...

Charles Hanson - Charles Hanson Drawing and Painting since childhood, While in High School participated in a mural project at the United Nations. Participated in shows in New York, New Jersey, California, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Had pieces in the Crocker Museum in Sacramento California, General Motors in Kentucky, Hunterton Art Museum in New Jersey, Allentown Art Museum and the State Theater in Pennsylvania. I actively participate in drawing and painting sessions with Lafayette College Easton Pa. I also organize a painting session on a monthly basis for an Arts Society that I am a board member of....

Jasmine Ronel - Woman, flower, abstraction Three pivotal images in my oeuvre entwined to form the statement I strive to put forth each time anew. I am a woman, I am a flower, I am an abstraction. These images constantly support and rely on one another. The abstract paintings are typified by a flower's architecture, the flower paintings are on the verge of abstraction, and the women's paintings sprout with stains. My mode of work includes the use of diverse and complex techniques, spanning a wide range of materials and media: photography, computer processing, printing spraying, high-gloss enamel paints, acrylics, glass paints, watercolors, oils, felt-tip pens and pencils. The canvas is processed in stages, via cumulated layers that maintain intricate interrelations of construction and destruction, mending and erasing. Whether the emerging image has ascribed value or not, the painting's true theme is in fact painting. The work transpires as a private outcome of the path towards that particular painting: the trail of its drippings, the mass of its strata and the depth of its insights....

Ric Hall And Ron Schmitt - These pastel paintings are collaborative work by artists Ric Hall and Ron Schmitt. Ric and Ron work simultaneously, standing next to one another. They start each piece with no conscious plan as to what the final result will be. Rather, they rely on spontaneous collaboration in the moment to allow the images to develop. Working literally over and around each other, both artists develop all areas of the image. They work with little verbal discussion or debate, allowing their strokes to do the talking. At various points in the process they apply an anhydrous alcohol fixative to keep the pigment from shifting and ready it for the next layer of color. Ric and Ron have been painting using this method for over 25 years, even as their technique and perspectives have matured....

Luisa Cleaves Luisa F. V. Cleaves Gallery - Fine portraiture is a sacred tool for me since it reflects and honor the subject in deeper ways. Every portrait that I have painted has generated strong emotional responses. In their testimonials, people speak of how looking at themselves, their children,or family members in their portraits has empowered them and made them feel more beautiful. About The Artist... South American artist Luisa F. V. Cleaves is a native of Argentina. She studied at The Superior School of Fine Arts majoring in Sculpture and Painting. Luisa exhibited her artwork in galleries, hotels, libraries, and art associations in Argentina as well as the U.S. Her work has been praised by such well known Argentinian art critics Cesar Magrini from "El Cronista Comercial" and E.R. from "Clarin." Sangeeta Singh - Sangeeta Singh I am an art nomad. Traveling and exploring styles, mediums, themes and techniques - both traditional and contemporary. Combining intuition and technique, I seek to create a sublime fusion of thought and medium. My colors are rich, always luminous.Intense.Striking. Tzipi Biran - I try to express the feminine experience as a complete individual that is constantly engaged in fulfilling her independence and femininity. Parallel to this, I emphasize the potential of a harmonious and holistic connection within a nourishing, supporting and creative relationship between a couple, a promoting and protective partnership within a spiritual and physical connection. The figures in my works are like the dance of life in which the steps of one are adjacent, connecting, opposing, and supporting to that of others, creating a changing and constant movement. ...
