Lucille Rella - Color, I can't imagine life without it. We are surrounded by it. Our attention is drawn to it and it creates a variety of moods in our environment. It motivates me to paint. A spectrum of lights and darks, high colors and muted tones get me involved in a painting. The wonderful transparency and spontaneity of the watercolor medium, helps me to utilize these qualities in expressing my art work. ...

C. A. Hoffman - For me, my artwork is very personal. It reflects a lot about how I am feeling at any given time and place. I feel that art has to be on this personal level to completely capture how the artist is feeling daily, or trying to convey a certain thought or emotion at that particular moment. We all, at one time or another try to express our thoughts or ideas, whether it is to others or just to ourselves, by words, actions, ideas or pictures. If we are sucessful in this attempt, I think it shows through in our everyday work or art. I believe that one is either born to create art naturally or by learning. For me, I feel that I was born with this wonderful gift, and I try to improve upon it every day. In my photos and art, I hope to show how everyday objects and nature can capture our imaginations and feelings. Sometimes I work with an image to improve it, inhance it, or just to fuel the imagination. I truly hope this shows in all of my art. ...

Michael Garr - I have been drawing and painting since Junior High. I enjoy quick art, impressionistic yet realistic, and minimal. There are interesting subjects all around us. My inspirations are architecture, people, light and shadow, the sea and boats, imagination... and the old masters. Get out and enjoy your surroundings. All my works are available as signed and numbered prints. I also do commission works, some examples of which are in the portfolio. I donate all proceeds to charity, and have recently teamed with SAVE THE BAY, a local Rhode Island eco-advocate organization, which receives 30 PER CENT of my proceeds. My opportunities for artistic expression have included drawing on napkins during airplane rides and waiting during my sons music lessons. In 2012 I took up oil painting for the first time, and my mentor is Lorena Pugh of North Kingstown. Ive done both Plein air and studio work in her presence, and am benefitting from the association. We have an informal group who meet and paint in Lorenas studio on Monday nights throughout the indoor season. Lisa Mee - I transform vistas, figures, abstractions and still lifes by using spatial differentiations. My color-saturated paintings resonate with immediate emotional impact to convey an opulent stained-glass effect on canvas of mosaic-like patterns and light. I gather patterns found in nature water currents, geological forms such as stones, shells, skies, forests, flowers. IaEURtmll see a sunset streaming with rich colors. Or, I will be struck by luscious floral arrangements in huge pots. Gorgeous color combinations form the beginnings of my work. I begin by mixing matte mediums with different paint colors. I never know what hues will emerge. That is my joy to see the unexpected unfold. Beautiful tints manifest that I never would have gotten out of a paint tube. I create very spontaneously. When the paints are laid out, I integrate them together. While a canvas is sopping wet, I quickly apply a sheet of paper to the surface and carefully press it down. With great care, I lift the paper off the surface. Or, Ill leave the paper on the canvas if I like the veil-like effect.
