James Morin - I am best known for my work in political cartooning which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1996 and 2017. However, I started painting when I was young, studied at Syracuse University under Jerome Witkin, and never stopped. While cartooning provided an artistic outlet for the daily foibles of politicians and such, painting offers me a means to explore topics more broadly natures supremacy through the majestic, haunting Banyan tree, cultural degradation through the zombie-like TV watcher, and spiritual desolation symbolized by the foreboding highway entrance. My paintings are my reaction to societal progression, at times a caution sign, or at least bemused reflection....
Marina Venediktova - My name is Marina Venediktova. I was born in 1974 in the Russian city of Kazan. My father is a professional artist and designer. It is difficult for me to track the moment in the past when painting first captured my attention, apparently from the first days of my life . I always studied with my father, and then graduated from an art school in the city of Kazan, later in 2007 I moved to live in St. Petersburg and practiced for many years in private workshops with artists of the Art Academy of St. Petersburg. As a second education, there was a graduation from the Academy of Astrology, and a large practice of consulting clients. Since then, more than six years have passed, and it was astrology that gave me that unique accent in my paintings, inspired me to a new stage of my work. Now I do not just look at the world, at people, I see them with my own eyes, I see the uniqueness of each person, each soul, even if it is an inanimate object. But words are too stingy to describe it, so I chose my own language-the language of canvas and paint. I ...
John Tooma - This site is only a guide to my artworks, you will appreciate them alot more when they are seen in real life. These prices are set in US currency, hope you could be aware of this. As a Painter and Graphic DesignerIllustrator, art is huge part of my life. Its a great feeling to have the ability to draw and paint what my eye can see. As an observer, I love to sketch in my A5 pads and photograph most subject matter transferring the visual information onto paper, canvas, clay or the computer. I use digital photographic equipment only as a support for my work. I draw and paint virtually everything but my passion lies with the human body. I use dry and wet medium such as graphite pencil, chalk pastel, charcoal, ink, gouache and oil paints. I enjoy experimenting with my subject. I also use the apple computer for retouching and airbrushing technique. You can order Prints from any of these Paintings or Drawings and this would be printed on either Paper or Canvas depending on your preference. It is an absolute pleasure to share my passion with you and to speak about it through art. I enjoy sketching ...
Sergey Lesnikov - Old things fascinate - wood, metal, stones, cobweb of craquelure on old varnish .. the way time worked on them. Perhaps as proof that Time is material, and has value in itself. Once, looking at the massive hundred-year-old board from the old house, I imagined all those works on the wood panels, from icons to painting, which we never saw, that left, disappeared, lost in time. How could they look like Then I came to idea to make such a thing, looking like a found artifact, with fragments of old painting on ancient piece of wood. So I have created it, and continue working now.. Additional technical education helps to find new and new technological solutions, and now every work is physically unique, because of the uniqueness of the key element - old wood, and because of the peculiarities of the process. Nowadays, when so many people are interested in medieval style, fantasy and pseudo-historical stories- from The Lord of the Rings to the Game of Thrones, such kind of works are interesting, arenaEURtmt they Such as they could be, if they existed in reality and reached our days.. Im always in search- of new approaches, new materials, sometimes ...
Nikica Cvrljak - Coming from a family of artists, I have painted since my childhood. One part of my work, both painting and photography, is inspired by the region where I live. It is coastal part of my country with its Mediterranean light. I usually paint in oil, pastels, watercolors and I do drawings in pencil. I do both color photography and black and white for which I still use film roles. I dont have a habit of explaining my work as I think that painting and photography are felt in a way that goes beyond language. Doing both painting and photography gives me a satisfaction. I think that every work of art which is honest and inspired can make this world a bit better. ...
