Artists Describing Their Art:

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Michael Pickett - We all have wonderful talents to bring to the World of art as artist. Your unique style and ambitions are greatly respected. We are empowered by the inspiration of our souls, inspired by the beauty of the world around us, and, in our way, changing the world. My goal as an artist is to make a difference in the world of art. I am color-blind and I have dyslexia. Having overcome many obstacles in my life then sharing my findings to those I run across. I am painfully shy when it comes to promoting myself to different galleries and organizations and that's why I've created my own portfolio web site. (www.pickettonline.com) Competition in the world of art is so high that good artist will eventually give up, not knowing that in there own way, they really are making a difference, Maybe not in the world, but in the local community or their family and friends. ...

Daya Bonnie Astor - Summer 2009 Venezia- I am exploring movement. This is a play on words of "women's movement". I examine legs as a symbol of women moving forward to a goal. Legs can dance, walk, take steps (physical and mental); legs move in space. I am using mixed media (fabrics, canvas, paper, paints). The body of work is title "La Gambe che Supports" (the leg which supports). My series of fourteen works shows legs not interacting with any artifacts which would describe place, home or activity, besides movement. I sue color and texture to show variations and emotions within the legs. Another level of complexity for my artwork is site specific: Venice is fragile. Venice is a pedestrian city. Everyone walks, moves on fragile land. Workers commute to the lagoon, even the indigent and street vendors commute to select places to interact with the tourists. Since the ground is uneven here, one must pay attention to stones, concrete and the elements which make up our pedestrian surface. One must also pay attention to our support, our legs. Legs have expression, perhaps not as refined as hands and arms, and one can red expressions in legs. My subjects, women, walk through unifying ...

Lauren Allee - As an animal lover, I have spent my life in the company of many types of companion animals, and they are an integral part of my family. You most likely view your companion animal(s) as an important family member too, since you are thinking having a portrait of your pet painted, and you are considering a visit tp Gallery Allee at www.gallerallee.com. Creating an original portrait of your companion animal begins by sending me several close-up, clear photographic images with clear eye detail. You will not want to use flash photography because the retina of the eye will appear white in animals such as dogs and red in other animals such as rabbits. In cases like these, I will not be able to paint the eyes with any amount of accuracy. It is best to take photos of your pet in natural, soft sunlight, preferably in the morning or early evening. After you take several photos of your pet, you will need to mail them to me. I will return your photographs to you when I have completed your painting. In the interim, you may upload electronic images of your photos by using the Electronic Photograph ...

D Loren Champlin - Champlin prefers portraiture and emotional scenes of the human bond and of the human condition. It is this energy and emotion that binds the subject with the canvas and forms the symphonic nature of his work. It is the merging of the moment onto the canvas. A symphysis of subject and form. Champlin boldly uses colour and line to express his artistic vision. The colour is weaved together to form a tapestry. Bold lines give a feeling of motion and energy. His works are the passion and energy of life and the fluidity of which life entails. Painting is the symphysis between artist and subject - the subject and the artist transcends a part of themselves to the painting creating a perfect union. It is a butterfly and the flower, the butterfly paints the flower flowing on the wind to the next to create new life - the miracle of pollenation. Painting is a way of thought. There are no words really to describe the process as thoughts are emotions and hues and shapes. It is calculated chaos resulting in harmony. Painting is to capture the spirit as if one could take a breath of wind, hold it and give it to ...
