  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Walther Von Krenner - Before I studied in Asia, Picasso and Gauguin had a great influence on my thinking. Later I admired the ideas and importance of Pollocks action painting. At this point in my journey Liu Kuo Sung, Chang Dai Chien, Fu Baoshi and Zao Wuki artists mostly unknown to the average Westener have had a great influence on my work. I am attempting to synthesize the style and spirit of their work into a new style with the same power, energy and feeling without copying their work or trying to repeat something that has been done already. ...

Environmental Artist Apollo - "The beauty of our planet should be held in respect as well as reverence and awe! What we do today, creates tomorrow." APOLLO Internationally Renowned Environmental Artist. Apollo is one of the World's Leading Environmental Artists. In 2003-4 his paintings and studio appeared in a full-length movie, three student films and two graduation films. Raphael Perez is the first Israeli artist to express his lifestyle as a Gay. His life and the life of the LGBT community are connected and unfold over hundreds of artwork pieces. His art creation is rare and extraordinary by every Israeli and international artistic standard. His sources of inspiration ...

Bridget Busutil - Bridget Busutil,google22976108fdd647b3.html Powered by View my page on Peacemaker Institute ARTIST STATEMENT. Art is a way of Life My life is about Art and reflects the multicultural diversity in which I was raised. I favour projects that mix Arts and multiculturalism and are interdisciplinary. I think that as an artist my world is not limited to an aesthetical dimension. Hopefully it goes beyond, through engaging a dialogue with the viewer that proposes discovery, criticism and reflection. Through my work I am offering the discovery of several worlds packed up in layers as in my encaustic, a sort of journey of self-discovery, as well as discovery of i?1/2the otheri?1/2 with the respect for cultural differences. The necessity is to succeed in viewing these differences as contributions to our own cultures and understand the wealth they have to offer. When I paint or teach students to draw a linei?1/2, I am aware of reaching out for a world without frontiers. Technically I wish to bridge the past to the present and show that there is a continuity in life experience that only artists are capable of showing. Keyword Optimizer ...

Jennifer Vranes - Words like brilliant and vibrant are often used to describe the contemporary paintings of Jennifer Vranes. With her extreme texture, and colors just brighter than reality, Vranes' paintings capture an intense energy that is both positive and uplifting. An extensive world traveler, Vranes gets her inspiration from places she has seen from all over the world. Through her art, she transports the viewer to distant lands where poppies grow wildly in breathtaking meadows; where fragrant Lavender is farmed in lush rows in France; or where aspens quake in the Rocky Mountains. Vranes finds the secret utopias that often go unnoticed and she captures it on canvas for the whole world to stop and take notice. Her passion to capture the dazzling beauty of nature stems from having grown up in a small country town in Southern Oregon. Perhaps it is her upbringing that inspires her subject matter which consistently portrays large, open spaces and white houses--much like the house she grew up in. Vranes continued her education at Brigham Young University , graduating in April 1998 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree. It was after her graduation that she met and married Matthew Vranes, a native of San Francisco. ...

William Christopherson - The viewer sees a finished canvas. The artist relishes its journey of creation. A thought, a feeling, an experience, a place. These are the most essential of supplies as the artist tasks to expand, explore, and evolve along the path. All are welcome here, to view, appreciate contemplate, and possess the journeys I have made, and the journeys yet to come. Over the past several years I have explored the oil medium, borrowing technique from both historical and present day impressionism. Its a medium I love to work in, even though my wardrobe and studio surfaces have suffered immensely. Much of my work now reflects the pallet knife, and explores a prolific use of heavy colorful brush stroke. Everything continues to evolve, and thats a good thing Enjoy. William Christopherson, 2017 ...

Dennis Duncan - A lifelong student of contemporary realism, I utilize various mediums to create art that stimulates the mind , body, and soul of each individual. By incorporating these three basic principles into each subject matter , at times the imagery takes on a "surrealist" aspect , "meditative", even "spiritual"... I've tried incorporating industrial products and textured mediums into my presentations, adding an "urban edge" to my body of work. . ...

Dennis Duncan - Pol Ledent - I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Belgium o, 23rd October 1952. I started painting in 1995 . I took some drawing lessons in the art academy in Dinant. I try to paint the landscapes of the countryside where I am living : the southern part of Belgium. Firts I took part in many collective exhibitions . Than, I had personal exhibitions in Rochehaut (Galerie La Potele), in Dinant (Galerie L'impression), in Paris (Rive Gauche Galerie Artimus) in Brussels (Galerie G-Loft).In 2004, I had three exhibitions, again In Rochehaut, galerie La Potele in May. Then, in September Exhibition Libr'art in Libramont. In November, Galerie Impression in Dinant. What people like most in my paintings are the colours. My art doesn't speak to the intellect but to the soul and to the feelings. Talink the risk to seem old fashioned , I would say it is rather romantic. I wish you much pleasure looking at my paintings. Pol Ledent ...

Ron Anderson - Working as an illustrator and painter for more than 20 years, I have often utilized the figure in narratives to communicate the nature of the human condition. I give each of my characters a role in my paintings that plays out like a scene from a motion picture. Carefully scripted by a personal experience, these characters go about their lives like you and me. Many of my paintings depict tension or energy in some way. The tension is exhibited in an attitude, an action or in some activity on the canvas. The tension is either overt or more kinetic, but is almost palpable in each piece of artwork. The size of my paintings, along with some personal connection, pulls you into the canvas. The drag of an alto saxophone fills the room in one painting while the noise deafens you; the smoke chokes you. A fight breaks out in the corner of the room on another canvas while a pool hustler wins a round. The subjects are infinite. Henry O. Tanner, John Sloan, and George Bellows were masters at observing and translating these types of human conditions onto a canvas in oil. My technique, drawn from what I have observed ...

Austen Pinkerton - Artists Statement Austen Pinkerton If I turn my mind to it very quickly I can come up with several ideas for works aEUR|paintings, drawings, or sculptures. Sometimes ideas come to me when I least expect it, or when my mind is on other things. Ideas can be related to my current experiences, or to my feelings about things that are happening to me in my life at that particular time. Alternatively they can be related to a current interest, or something that occupies my attention at that moment, and my ideas and feelings about which Id like to share with others. A lot of my work is autobiographicalaEUR|either directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously. It is frequently very personal, and expresses events or circumstances or experiences in my life. I usually work in either Acrylic on Canvas, Crayon or Pastel, or both together, with Gouache, on card, Drawing in pencil, or Ink, or both, or with creating SculptureaEUR|for which I use fired artists clay. Sculpture follows a completely different set of rules and values from two-dimensional art, obviously, I think of it as Drawing in three dimensions and I take this into account when creating mine. In...

Marino Chanlatte - I started painting a long time before I realized it was my passion, and that I would be a painter. I felt the inner need to express through painting, in a freely and spontaneous way, my feelings, thoughts, ideas and fantasies that appeared as visions ... I use color, texture, shapes, light, and shadows to express myself. If my work communicates any emotion or feeling to the viewer, then I accomplished my purpose....

Johann Van Den Noort - Dutch native, painter and artist JOHANN VAN DEN NOORT (Kampen 1940) has an undeniable bond with the sea and therefore maintains a unique position within the modern art world. His passion for the sea and the way this passion is visualized through his original art form, secures him a position in the ranks of today's art world. JOHANN VAN DEN NOORT's paintings summon feelings of sovereignty. An exuberance arising from meeting the elements and visually capturing an abstract image into an emotoinal reality. Wim van der Beek, arteditor. JOHANN VAN DEN NOORT dominates all technics in the art like: oilpaintings, watercolours, gouache, graphics, ceramics and sculptures. His total oeuvre consists of over 5000 pieces of art. There are a lot of publications from him by radio, TV, newspapers, artmagazines and catalogues. Most of his work found a way to important art-collections all over the world. In 2005 Johann van den Noort was decorated by the Dutch Queen as Knight of the Dutch Lion for his complete works ...

John Gamache - If I come across something of interest that will be a focal point for me to build on, that excites my passion for elements of the pastaEUR"old, cast-off objects,aEUR"run down barns, old junk cars, and abandoned houses. These are the objects I collect and infuse with new life through my paintings. When I create such a piece, I wish to convey the emotions I feel for the scene or objects to the viewer. I want the viewer to be an active participant in my joy, melancholy, humor, nostalgia. Through my textures, layers, earth-tones, and choice of images, I strive to convey these feelings. To me, the process of creating a work is transcendental I am completely lost in the making, I am part of each piece. It does take time to finish each painting as I work on several at once. Each painting is a slow build up of many layers to reach the final detailing. My goal is to create and master my craft, not just in the painting but in the feelings Ive described previously to the viewer. To elicit emotion will make the piece and my goal complete as a work of art. ...
