Artists Describing Their Art:

Debbi Chan - I am going to do an updated artist's statement. But until I submit it you have a short temporary one. As an artist I an fullfilled and contend. But at the same time I seek more , absorb more, and enjoy more. Art fills and fullfills me..I am always being an artist. My eyes see art always. This is not a hobby that I partake of when time suits. Art feeds me. Art consoles me. And being prolific it also takes my time. And for this I am thankful that i listened to my inner self. I am thankful for a following that grows by the minute. I enjoy you enjoying my portfolio. I also have come to realize that the coined phrase "starving artist" is a reality for some of us. But if you take another quote, my own , you will see that starving and rich pertain to material $. because of you the viewers , and because art is my life and my passion I can truly say that I AM RICH.. RICH WITH NO MONEY... and I can also say with truth that I am happy. I chose the path that allowed this rich life. There will continue ...

Lisa Levasseur - "I am moved by the actions, history and events that shape mankind, by nature or anything that elevates the spirit. I feel we are connected, that we can affect or be affected by everything around us. I can't help wanting to create things that reflect how I feel. I want people to understand what they may be sacrificing, ignoring or overlooking in life. Sometimes it's watching the simplest things, it could be the most horrifying things, often it's experiencing the adventure or beauty nature has to offer and it's definitely in the connection I have with animals. It translates into all this energy which I can express in a positive way through my artwork; I only hope it inspires the same passion, love and hope in others." ...

Linda Mears - As a self-taught artist, I draw my inspirations from my family experiences and travels and from my Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, however, I have always been active in art and have always loved to make things; painting, sculpture, doll making, poetry, music, etc., since I was a small child. In 1987, I was discovered by a Madison Avenue gallery and have made painting my career since that time. My paintings continue to be found in prestigious private collections, galleries, museums, and on various gift and other products worldwide. I love make my collectors, and viewers, smile. And to inspire them to see life as beautiful as it can be. ~ Linda Mears ...

Tom Lund-Lack - Tom Lund-Lack is a self-taught painter whose work uses the power of imagination to seek out the core elements of the subjects he paints. His work is grounded in the need to celebrate life, and to express our sense of existence through the recognition of the transforming power of colour and light. Arrangements of shape, line, pattern and colour conjure up powerful expressions, sometimes dreamlike and at peace sometimes exciting and dramatic. The pieces do not always represent an actual moment in time, but are rather the result of a process of reflection, recollection and reinvention, a distillation of his experiences. ...
