Artists Describing Their Art:
Debbi Chan - I am going to do an updated artist's statement. But until I submit it you have a short temporary one. As an artist I an fullfilled and contend. But at the same time I seek more , absorb more, and enjoy more. Art fills and fullfills me..I am always being an artist. My eyes see art always. This is not a hobby that I partake of when time suits. Art feeds me. Art consoles me. And being prolific it also takes my time. And for this I am thankful that i listened to my inner self. I am thankful for a following that grows by the minute. I enjoy you enjoying my portfolio. I also have come to realize that the coined phrase "starving artist" is a reality for some of us. But if you take another quote, my own , you will see that starving and rich pertain to material $. because of you the viewers , and because art is my life and my passion I can truly say that I AM RICH.. RICH WITH NO MONEY... and I can also say with truth that I am happy. I chose the path that allowed this rich life. There will continue ...
Engelina Zandstra - 'In the labyrinth of my thoughts there are many roads leading to the unknown' LANDSCAPES OF THE MIND Engelina Zandstra is a Dutch artist living in Amsterdam, Netherlands. My way of working is spontaneous. It starts with a concept, an idea in my mind, which is in most cases not well-defined. It can have its origin in the images that are stored in my imagination, or in the impressions of daily life. The paintings made in this way can be considered as'Landscapes of the mind', because they are reproductions of the ideas that are formed in my head. The style of the paintings can best be described as lyrical-abstract. Sometimes they are more figurative, at other times fully abstract. Colour is very important for me : the alchemy of colour. This defines for me the atmosphere of a painting. Usually I work in many thin layers of paint on top of each other. I let myself be guided by the forms and colours that develop during the process of painting. Each new layer gives inspiration for the following one, with new ideas. Because of the different layers and colours, the acrylic paint gets depth and character. Sometimes the...

Einav Zilber - As an art lover, I want to see art not only in the museum or gallery but rather see art in my daily surroundings of where I live. Be it the hair dresser, a book shop, a cafe or the local launderette. I think there's something exciting about being able to see art everywhere, stop for a moment (or more) from the days' work and hectic life we live, to look and explore new realms of creation and give me another look and maybe even a glimpse to the creativity and life of others. This idea had been on my mind for a while, bit by bit I could see it come to life in Tel Aviv, where I live, not just the events the municipality make, but rather small initiatives. As a photographer it gives me a lot of space to enjoy and create. I call it Art Around. ...
Robin Whalley - Beyond artistic concerns, the priority in my work is to produce imagery of the highest quality. I achieve this in a number of ways, working with both traditional film and digital image capture. All my work is however digitally mastered before entering my Photoshop workflow. I now use a range of cameras in my work, each bringing a unique character to the images. For those with a technical interest my main equipment is Canon digital SLR's, Pentax 67 II medium format film, Hasselblad XPan II panoramic film and a Holga for artistic inspiration. With film I shoot both transparency and Black and White, but much prefer the freedom and latitude of the black and white negative. I will make no excuses for my use of Photoshop. This is a wonderful tool for the digital artist, allowing the true vision to be realised. My approach is for my work to move beyond reality; beyond the scene that was in front of the camera at the moment the shutter was clicked although the final image must remain believable. My goal is for the viewer to question how nature could create something so wonderful rather than question if the scene is real....
Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style.
